08:00 CET - Good morning and welcome to the semi-final day at the Shanghai Masters and Wuhan Open! It promises to be a fascinating day of action, and it all gets underway in two and a half hours, with the first semi-final as top seed Alexander Zverev takes on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Davidovich Fokina is enjoying a dream Asian Swing so far, having already won the title in Chengdu last month but this is his toughest test yet. Victory against soon-to-be world number one, who is also enjoying a strong tournament, would be a statement win, but all logic points towards a routine Zverev win.

The German has dropped two sets en route to this stage but looked in imperious form as he swatted aside Alex De Minaur in the previous round.

Over in Wuhan, the first semi-final on this semi-final Saturday gets underway at 11:00 CET as the story of the tournament, Sonay Kartal, takes on world 34 and heavy favourite Jelena Ostapenko for a place in the final.

However, dismissing Kartal's chances at this tournament has already proven to be a mistake after the British player knocked out Jasmine Paolini and world number six Elina Svitolina en route to this stage.
